Nairobi National Park

Nairobi 8 Rating

“The World’s only Wildlife Capital”

Nairobi National Park is a protected natural area in Kenya, with a total extension of 117 km². Located about 10 km from the center of Nairobi, it is a rather rare example of a national park in the immediate vicinity of a large city.

The wide grassy plains and backdrop of the city towers, scattered acacia bushes, are home to a wide variety of wildlife, including the endangered black rhino, lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, buffalo, giraffe, and diverse birds, with over 400 recorded species. Visitors can enjoy the park’s picnic sites, three campsites, and hiking trails.

Among mammals, four of the Big Five are found in the park: the lion, the leopard, the black rhinoceros, and the buffalo; the elephant is absent.
