Tsavo West
Malindi, Kenya 8 Rating
“Land of Lava, Springs, Man-Eaters & Magical Sunsets”
From the sight of fifty million litres of crystal clear water gushing from beneath the barren volcanic lava rock of Mzima Springs to the Shetani lava flows, Tsavo West is a beautiful and untamed wilderness. The savannah ecosystem includes open grasslands, scrublands and acacia woodlands, riverine vegetation belts and rocky ridges including Poacher’s Lookout where visitors can see the herds teeming on the plains below.
Tsavo West offers some of the most magnificent game viewing in the world and attractions include elephant, rhino, hippo, lion, cheetah, leopard, buffalo, several plant and bird species including the endangered Corn Crake and the near-extinct Basra Reed Warbler.
